Earlier this month we told you guys that Samsung is about to launch Galaxy S5 at unpacked event at MWC 2014 at Barcelona on 24th of February. So finally wait is over for all Samsung fans as Samsung unveiled the most awaited smartphone of the year Samsung Galaxy S5 at Mobile World Congress as was promised. However Galaxy S5 drew mixed reactions from fans, some were not very delighted with almost no change in it’s design while some at the same time were quite contented with Sansung’s S-Health app and improved 16 megapixel camera. Apart from....
.S5, Samsung simultaneously launched two smartwatches namely Gear 2 and Fit Gear which allows you to stay in shape by monitoring you vital health stats like heart beat etc.

Samsung Galaxy S5 is especially a treat for health consious people with built in apps such as heart rate monitor, pedometer and fitness tracker, though we are not sure how useful they actually are. You simply neet to stick your finger over a sensor at S5′s back to capture your heart beat. Samsung Fit Gear is more specialized to do these tasks and with much ease, just swipe for the required app on curved Fit Gear screen and you are done.
As you can see Samsung Galaxy S5 has a nice perforated pattern at the back cover and it comes in 4 distinctive colors namely “charcoal Black, shimmery White, electric Blue and copper Gold.” The object you can see below the camera in pic above is heart beat sensor where you need to place your finger tip to know your current heart beat rate. Specification wise there is not much of surprises for us – Galaxy S5 features a 5.1 inch touch screen with Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 3GB of RAM, a 2,800 mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat. Samsung has not experimented much with the physical design and S5 more or less looks like S4 with the same home button at the center.

Samsung’s new Gear 2 watch also comes with basic fitness features including the heart rate monitor and pedometer. What’s more the Gear 2 is sleek and more attractive compared to it’s previous version. Unlike th Fit Gear you can place a call, shoot a piture or video and much more using the Gear 2. Another feature that we liked about Gear 2 is it’s capability to pair with host of Samsung devices unlike it’s predecessor.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Price:
Some industry sources claim that S5 would be priced below S4′s launch price, however at this point of time exact price of S5 is not available in public domain. So approximate price for S5 would be in the range of $600-700 or INR. 40,000 to 42,000.
Personally speaking S5 looks promising device, however it similar to it’s predecessor in many cases. So if you are owning S4 then upgrading to S5 won’t make much of difference except for improved camera, improved internet speeds, water and dust resistance and smartwatches. However if you own an iPhone or other Android device and are health concious then this is the perfect occasion for a switch to Samsung Galaxy S5 with improved S Health 3.0 and Fit Gear.
